The untimely death of the architect Tamanian in 1936, led to a change in the project. The building was renovated from 1978 to 1980 when it was named after the most famous Armenian composer.

The Project:

The hall has a capacity of 1300 seats. A new electrical installation for stage lighting was done in 2014. New lighting fixtures were also installed, so the hall shone in a new light.
